Venessa’s trilogy is all black and white but at the end when PFLAG comes to give color to their lives, to our lives. We respect them all, we respect us all
love to all of us
Vanessa’s dads acting is phenomenal !
I did a little review of this episode as well as the next one: https://fedscomic.blogspot.com/2015/01/review-out-with-dad-321-322.html
Steven has done it again….succinctly putting into words a great description of the episodes.
I hadn’t really thought a lot about Angela and Nathan due to the obvious and overwhelming ending, but I agree with Steven when he asks Jason ‘How could you?’
I think that the two adults deserve happiness and a companion in their lives as much if not more so than their kids do. I have a teenaged daughter now and I can’t imagine trying to raise her on my own. Steven captures the essence of this angst in his thoughts very well.
I really liked this episode, both for all the ‘feels’ as my daughter would say…Vanessa and her dad reunited, the Rainbow Flag going from black and white….to ‘In Living Color’ (yes, I am old enough to remember how exciting that was, thank you NBC!).
But, also, the camera work was really powerful. Was Lindsey holding the camera or was someone shooting REAL close up? Either way, real powerful and intense. Good job, entire crew and to Lindsey on this for being such a good actress.
What an amazing episode. I hope one day my father will accept me. We are definitely getting close. I’m so glad I contributed to this series. You all helped me come out to my friends and family as well as thousands of people on the internet through my blog. Thank you so much. <3
Such a POWERFUL episode! AWESOME! Made me cry!
When I saw the rainbow Pride flag go from black-and-white into color, I got so choked up, it was so simple and beautiful and moving, I started to cry. I already loved this show, but that one moment was enough to make me fall in love with it all over again.
Some comments down, there is an accidental spoiler of the end of the season. Don’t read it!
Thanks for the warning. I almost scrolled down.
Wow! this episode is pure genius! the way it was shot and the use of colour is incredible! Loved how you highlighted the emotional turmoil Vanessa has been through and also her building a bond with her dad! was very beautiful to watch.
I have only ever seen one other movie that used colour technique in a similar way to you and that was “Schindler’s List”. I thought you nailed it!
You are such a visionary Jason, Love your work!
Well Done! Job Well Done! 🙂
i cried :[ this season was well done
wow i have tears in my eyes.. i dream of one day hearing those words from my father.. highly doubt it though.. the transition to color with the flag at the end was amazing!! I couldnt help but smile and cry at the same time
The transition to color at the end of the episode is great. I knew her father would accept her but was surprised that he went all out with the rainbow flag.
Absolute perfection!!! the ending of this episode really touched my heart!
congratulations
So, is it too soon to ask when the next episode is?
Just kidding! Love this series. You’re all awesomesauce,
And I knew Rose would break Claire’s heart, damn her. Claire is too adorable to deserve such turmoil.
also don’t know what glitched to make my comment appear on this episode instead of the last one. strange!
It’s still appreciated!
