I couldn’t even look at the screen when Johnny talked about Rose’s mom’s death. Still almost cried.
I had to pause this episode and walk away from my computer for about 10 minutes right after Johnny told Angela about how Rose’s mom died. My dad died of a heart attack almost a year and a half ago (October 1st, 2013… just 9 days before my 22nd birthday). There’s still songs I can’t listen to without crying and there’s one episode of The Foster that, if I ever rewatch that whole show after it’s done airing on TV, I won’t ever watch again… but I didn’t realize that even now, just hearing about other people dying from a heart attack would still bring me to tears the way that just did!
I should have finished watching the episode before I submitted my comment before! When I came back to it, there were tears and then laughter. Thank you for another amazing episode!
My mom pass away the next day I was born…I have to say that I dont like my birthday because for me is a sad day and I know my sisiter and my father feel sad at my birthday. Actually I never can have a good birthday since I was a child…so I decide to never celebrate my birthday again.
*sorry for my bad english
hahaha that is so a great idea…coming out as a parent of your gay son…JUST GREAT! I hope someday my parents do that for me
I’ve gotten around to writing another one: https://fedscomic.blogspot.com/2014/12/review-out-with-dad-320-getting-it-out.html
Steven does it again….describing this episode as I do with myself when ‘talking’ to myself about this episode….this episode will bring you to tears…and Steven does a nice job of capsulizing this well.
I don’t think I have ever cried and then laughed right afterwards. Well done on this one!
Absolutely the most emotional episode I’ve seen. I was blown away by the story about Rose’s mother. I didn’t see it coming! I’ve said this before, but it is more true than ever – your cast is AMAZING. The acting – and writing – just keep getting better!!!
Wow, this sure hits close to home for me. Not only am I struggling to come out, but my mom died on my birthday too and I have a single dad. It’s uncanny how much I can relate to Rose’s character.
Hugs to you, Heather. I’m glad you found OWD. Not only is it a wonderful series, but there are very supportive people here, and there are some really good “lessons” in the series. – Finding PFLAG for support – and also adult LGBT role models who can offer you a ear (or a shoulder) – are really helpful things you can do. Reach out to someone you trust – don’t go through this alone.
“Welcome to the closet Mr. Miller.” Haha I love that. But it’s also extremely sad about his wife.
WOW! Talk about FULL spectrum feels!
The cast and crew all agree, as we all laughed and cried along with this one at last night’s screening. Glad you liked it 😀
poor Nathan lol
🙂
