If you haven’t read Steven’s review….It just might be his best yet. I look forward to the rest of your reviews Steven!
Thank you so much Spike! I try not to ramble too much. Mostly the credit goes to Jason and co. for giving me topics to think about.
Great, no GREAT episode. Jason…and Jonathan I will have you know that I was left wanting to reach through the phone and throttle that Gym Teacher. Being the dad of a 13 year old girl I think, hell I KNOW, my reaction would not have been so restrained. As my wife says of me….burn Bridges first and then the regret.
Actually, Jonathan, you had me believing you totally in this. The rage and frustration you were letting go of had me nodding and saying ‘You tell him!’
Jason I find it difficult to believe that you don’t have kids cuz you’ve got this thing down pat! Nice job of writing and directing. I also thought that Jeff’s portrayal of the Gym teacher was pretty cool. You could see on his face the frustration with Nathan’s non cooperation and shock of ‘what am I gonna do now?’
Great episode from beginning to end!
Thanks so much Spike! That was a fun scene to play. It was quite a mess in editing I’m sure because I felt so angry I’d keep losing my words and not knowing what to say so I’d just rattle off stuff that made no sense. I think what you see is almost back to what was written, poor Jason …
Don’t worry Jonathan, it wasn’t THAT hard to edit…
I really appreciate that you have included the locker room-homophobia in your episode! During highschool some of my classmates made it clear that I wasn’t welcome in the locker room (allthou there never was any physical bullying). Ever since I have carried with me a tiny little bit of shame and the question if they were right. I have googled it but found nothing about it. I have thought that the only reason there is boys and girls locker rooms is because everyone is expected to be heterosexual (or at least was when the first locker rooms were built) and that girls and boys should be protected from looking at each other in “inappropriate ways”. This on the other hand would give a reason for non-heterosexual girls to not change in the girls locker room. Confusing, isn’t it? Still got no answer, but Nathans way of standing up for Rose is very comforting for me. Thank you! 🙂 (Hope my english isn’t too bad, not native speaker.)
I love how this series has always been about Rose as well as Nathan. Because this isn’t just ripping Rose apart, but Nathan too. It really comes across here.
I needed that knowing smile from Claire. It gave me a needed laugh at the end of the episode. This is great so far!
Thanks Katie! Jason and I had many talks about how important it was that Nathan’s perspective was shown as well. The scenes in this episode were some of the most challenging, and some of the most fun to do.
LOL love Claire’s look at the end!
I also apparently can’t spell my own name….
‘There’s the bitch now’
Hahaha, I know it’s a tense moment, but Claire is still so cute n sweet even when she’s being ‘hostile’.
