I want to give you guys 1000 dollars in the next month or two with my new job. I really want to see Vanessa. She’s my favorite.
I’m only a few months behind on these: https://fedscomic.blogspot.com/2016/02/review-out-clubbing-counselling-vanessa.html
The most boring season so far…I really miss previous seasons 🙁
i agree
Kate Conway #always #beautiful #mylove
I loved this episode soo much! Can’t wait for the next one! And I really like that ‘shaved head’ chick 😉
I liked that girl too. She seemed quite awesome… Kind of my type, actually.
I hate to have to agree with some of the other replies. This season has been really bad for me. All episodes I can remember are flashback ones, if you know what I mean: Rose talking to someone about something that passed before. This one was particularly disappointing to me. Both of them are complaining of not being able to get someone, and somehow they’re unaware that’s what they did, unless the other pointed it out. Why couldn’t they just put them in a bar and let us know how it delves instead of telling us what it was?? I don’t mind that the Vanessa/Claire era is past, at all. I would like this season to be Rose’s more mature dealing with love and relationships, and commitment and -I have to say it- SEX!!! I don’t mean, of course, showing sex scenes. But, you know, Rose is now an adult and her relationships were more like those of 12 year olds. And, to finish my rant, isn’t this series called Out with Dad??? Whatever happened to the dad part?
I kind of agree here. Tough… you can give the impression that she has sex without showing it… like for example what the did with Vanessa when she was away from home.
Nicely done! Nice to see Rose smiling again! and I notice the name James Doyle in the end…hmm…name sounds familiar….hmm…I think I know..
The LOTR reference had me lying on the floor laughing – who thought of that? Brilliant, I loved it! Can’t wait for the next episode, it’s great to see Rose starting to move on…
The LOTR referenced had me “WHAT?” but couldn’t help laughing.
A quick comment that this was a neat change of pace. And very believable, too. Makes we wonder how many times back in my younger days someone was flirting and I didn’t notice.
Lovely episode.
The cute woman with the phone number is totally cute. And Rose is nicely oblivious, I empathise.
Also, re commenter above, I have conversations on street corners all the time when the person is cool but we’re off in different directions from that point.
I feel rather disappointed by this episode. I always look forward to the next episode of Out with Dad and check back here regularly, sometimes a couple of times a day to see if it’s been posted yet; -so it’s always a bit disappointing if I find the episode a bit of a disappointment. So far I’ve been felt this quite a bit in season 4. I was always rather impressed by the acting in previous seasons, particularly the emotional realism, and felt that the final scene in the season 3 finale was particularly well acted and believable; -but I feel like the acting, and editing together of clips, has felt rather stilted and unnatural this season, and has meant I’ve lost confidence to share episodes with friends, because I like this series and would wish them to feel similarly, -and I fear that they may think the same. I feel this particular episode exemplified this the most. I also felt that this episode did rather beg the question somewhat as to who stands still in the middle of a pavement, on a street corner, on a cold night, just for a chat? I appreciate that the last episode was of two characters talking as they walked, -but I think that if Rose and Owen had been talking as they went along it might have made this whole exchange seem more realistic, -or if they’d been sat down eating a kebab or something. The spot they were in was oddly dead, for a street corner. I understand that passing cars or people would make things trickier, but if there’s not going to be either, maybe it would’ve worked better if they’d been in a spot for the chat where we wouldn’t expect to find many. There just didn’t seem to be any reason for them standing there all that time, – like if it had been set up that they had to get thier final words in because one of them was about to get a bus or train, or that they were trying to hail a cab; -they were just stood there. It all felt rather odd, unlikely, and a bit uncomfortable. The cuts to club scenes could’ve felt more smooth and natural too. The lead-ins in the script were there, but the cuts to the club scenes still seemed to appear a bit from nowhere and suddenly, in a bit of a shocking way, ‘Oh. We’re in the club now’, -it felt a little bit crude. Also, I know this says a lot more about societal prejudice than valid casting choice, but it’s a struggle to see a character who has a voice that ticks so many of the boxes that would cause it to be classified as pretty camp, as heterosexual. I’m all for subverting and challenging expectations, but it does present a bit of a challenge to finding it plausible. I’m very fond of Out with Dad, and grateful to it for all the good it has done in the world, the situations it has writ large for others benefit and awareness, and I like watching how Rose has found her feet as an adult, and seeing and learning about all the various relationships and decisions in her life, and in those of those around her, and the ways they’ve grown and are showing the maturing of the characters and thier understandings of themselves, life, and each other, which has been very well done. Thank you for all the time, love, and energy that has been invested, and is continuing to be invested, in giving this gift to us all. With thanks, Kim.
Hey, I just wanted to write and apologise, because I just re-watched the episode, (which I totally should’ve done before commenting), and there’s loads of stuff going on in the background with people and passing cars and stuff, -so apologies for writing before I’d re-watched it, and so accidentally writing utter tripe, :-). Best wishes, Kim.
Excellent, I was missing my monthly Out With Dad fix. This is a comment and not a criticism, but I noticed when Rose talks to Owen, she doesn’t talk at his level as I was trained to do for my job if the conversation was for an extended period. Also don’t create any controversy over tea again when Rose meets her date! – Possible joke there if you haven’t shot it yet
Ah, man. Não é mais a mesma coisa sem a Vanessa/Claire. >.<
Realmente. A serie esta bem sem sal nem acucar.
Beautiful episode! I’m already looking foreward to the next one!!
I mean forward*
Glad you enjoyed it!! We had just as much fun making it.
Not that I really mind it, but suddenly my picture shows up. I just wonder why. It didn’t do that earlier.
