So I dont think this isright. Basically rose broke claires heart and saying that and Rose are soulmates not really Vanessa broke process heart and Claire Holt Rose get through the hard times so I think that Rose should go back to Claire and Vanessa should have to wait it out until I was makes up her mind because I’m pretty sure Rose is in love with Vanessa. But wrote that that still doesn’t give any right to Rose to brake her heart claire doesn’t deserve this.now going back to Vanessa why did Vanessa run away in the first place I mean I get it that her parents being on judgmental but she never exactly know what she was in the beginning like if she didn’t know what she was then why did she run away or so of questions about that and there’s also a couple other things I have on Claire like if Claire new Rose was in love with Vanessa why did Clara stay with us after all they’ve been through and why does Rose have enough nerve to kiss Vanessa
This is the best series ever, Team Vanessa! I like cried a little bit toward the end though. But it’s a great series and I’d rather watch this than anything else.

TEAM CLAIRE!!!! I’ve loved Claire from the beginning. She’s just such an outstanding person and has enabled Rose to get out of the slump Vanessa originally put her in. Even when her parents didn’t approve of her, she refused to change herself for them. I just love her and Rose and as much as Vanessa HAS changed… I think she just missed her chance with Rose.

I’m glad Vanessa finally accepted her love for Rose. But didn’t Rose and her dad move in the beginning of the season while her and Vanessa still weren’t speaking, so my question is how did Vanessa knew to go to her new house??
When Vanessa first went missing the dad showed up at Rose’s new house to see if they knew anything about it. Vanessa’s dad probably told her where it is.
Exactly right! There was actually a whole scene I wrote, but choose not to film in which Vanessa and her dad’s conversation continues after their big hug. In fact, it was he who suggests going to see Rose – because he knows how worried Rose is.
The scene also included Vanessa facing her little brother Jacob – he feels betrayed by Vanessa. She promised him she’d never leave him like their older brother did, and yet she broke that promise. There are many relationships for Vanessa still ahead that need to be rebuilt and navigated.
Oh nooooooo D: This is why I hate love triangles so much 🙁 Always someone getting hurt and I really liked Claire. She was super amazing. Hope they can work it out and at least be friends again. Saw this coming though. I did never care much for the chemistry between Vanessa and Rose, but I must admit, that Claire and Rose really were awkward at times, but Claire was so happy. Wah, now I’m sad. I think Vanessa and Rose are meant to be, but I just wish Claire could be happy. :/
Love this show. It’s one of the best coming out stories I’ve seen. I could have never known how good this would become when it started, because there are so many developments in the story and the story is not shallow in any way. Really! Great job! I’m excited for the next season (and still a little sad 😉 poor Claire T.T )

Omg. This by FAR has been the best episode ever. I must admit I feel for Clarie but Rose always seemed to be weird about her and there relationship although Clarie did bring Rose out of her shell they didn’t seem to click as well. And seeing Vanessa and Rose kiss OMG I felt the connection through my phone. I felt it in my heart and stomach I say to the director that he should give the love of those to go and see what happens there. It would be heartbreaking if they didn’t move forward with Rose and Vanessa when it’s more then clear there is true love there.

I am gonna be serious here. I think that society is on its way to full gay acceptance. It is just a matter of time. I think that we should support the fact that somebody can be in love with two different people at the same time. There is nothing wrong about that. Romantic relationships of more than two people are okay, and I would like to see Claire, Vanessa and Rose go on that direction.

Omg I don’t even know what to say, I did know that vanessa would have come back and Rosie’d had to choose but all happened so quickly. The Rosie/Vanessa scene is so emotional and I am so happy that Vanessa finally declare her feelings to Rose but I was able to hear Claire’s heart break into a thousand of pieces. I have know idea how Rose will handle the situation and probably she won’t know what to do either but even though I’m really sorry for Claire (to find out like this must be horrible) I really hope for a Rosie/Vanessa (do they have a ship name? Please tell me) happy ending.
To summarize, I loved the season final. And I really love the show, it helped me a lot to figured out who I was and that there is nothing wrong with me and give me the strength to come out to my mother, who is 100% cool with me. So please, keep going through this amazing project.

Well, that’s a fine mess Rose finds herself in. I cannot wait to see the fallout from the whole Claire catching Rose mid-makeout with Vanessa. That should be an interesting conversation.
I’m also wondering about the GSA plotline and how that’ll go down now that Kenny has basically stated that he doesn’t give a crap what the teachers say, they’re starting a GSA no matter what! Good on him for being so ballsy.
I feel bad about Angela doubting her ability to help Nathan trying to move on from his late wife’s death. I hope she doesn’t give up. Nathan deserves to find some happiness on the romantic front, too.
This was a great season finale. That said, get hopping onto season 4! I need more Out With Dad, thank you very much! 😀

I am in love with the show and this is the craziest episode when i seen the end i was like don’t forget that Claire is their stop kissing she gonna caught you . i was at the end of my seat the whole time it was great. I want Team Vanessa but i love Claire hope this now turns in to a fight for roses heart but looks like Vanessa won just by walking through the door.

This is my favorite episode to date. I always have been and always will be on Team Vanessa and I love how those two were finally reunited, but I sympathize with Claire. Her character grew on me and she’s been so good for Rose and helping her grow. She didn’t deserve to be cheated on. I can’t really say I blame Rose though, I would’ve done exactly what she did in that situation. Her first and true love has returned to her and Vanessa’s the only thing on her mind. Still rooting for Team Vanessa, but in the next season (there’s gonna be another season, right?!) I really don’t want to see Claire get hurt though I know it will be inevitable. I’m going to guess that Claire will let go of Rose, only wanting Rose to be happy.
Anyway, I’m so glad that I stumbled across this web series a few years ago (I think I found you guys in 2011). So much has happened for me since then including coming out of the closet and watching this show is like a breath of fresh air for me. I can relate to Vanessa a lot with the struggle between her and her parents. Honestly, it’s a little hard for me to watch those scenes because of how close to home they are. Luckily I have the support of other family members and friends and am out for the most part. Thank you so much for doing what you do and I would love to donate except I’m a poor college student who is struggling financially. I can’t wait to see more of Rose’s story. 🙂

this series repeatedly for 2 years! I’m a lesbian, I come out to my mom last year, unfortunately her response was in between ok and not. She told be that I can do whatever I want and whatever I choose (as if it’s a choice). I think her reaction was neutral because of the fact that I never have a girlfriend (I’m certain that I like girls, unfortunately almost all my crushes are straight!) but that fact that I am not a teenager anymore makes her know that I am telling the truth.
I live in the eastern part of the world, but luckily I’ve never been bullied because of my sexuality, and that opinions about LGBTQs here are usually neutral (tolerable).
Lastly,
I love OUT WITH DAD, not only because it features a lesbian and coming out story, but mostly because it tackles other situations like, how the gays and lesbian communities judged the BI community and straight people’s situations (we should love the person for who they are), school bullyings, true friends, family conflicts, etc 🙂
I love how YOU guys show that no one should look people in one way, but that we should all just understand that situations are different in for every person and that we have to accept that shit happens to all of us and this world.

Rose has to be with Vanessa. They are soul mates. I’ve never made the connection between Rose and Claire. They just haven’t clicked. There’s always been a palpable energy between Rose and Vanessa. I don’t know if I can continue watching this show if Rose and Vanessa aren’t together!
What an ending – reminds me of a friend who was stuck in this very situation – choosing between someone good for her and choosing between her first! She chose her first. Can’t wait to see who Rose will choose or if she chooses at all…

Sir Jason this is really a great show – I did not predict the ending this is quite surprising when Vanesa showed up on Rose’s birthday – though before watching the last episode I expecting Vanessa to be there and she did . I am Team Vanessa but I know how hurt Claire would be , I felt the pain when she saw Vanessa and Rose kissing damn so hard to see your love in that kind of situation – I love the twist and I’m very much excited for the next season.
Thank you for this wonderful show , I remember seeing this show the first time last August’14 – wow just this year and upon watching it i can’t stop because it gives me inspiration and I learned a lot of things like about facing your fears, being yourself , love yourself and being true to yoursef . Jason you are killing me you sir are a evil genius setting up the ending like this when Rose opens that door I personally am Team Vanessa 100% and i think she should be with Rose cause basically she made her declaration of love for Rose and Claire never had the issue of having to struggle to be with Rose she just boom they were together Vanessa and Rose have been through hell (Vanessa;s Mom being satin ) The ending of this season set up perfectly to where Rose is between her True Love(Vanessa)and her First Love(Claire ) and this will make things hard for her I mean my heart goes out to Claire but this was going to happen eventually because the connection between Rose and Vanessa is so strong they have a bond they have been best friends for forever and that is one bond not even Claire could possibly break and I kind of saw this coming because i had a feeling Rose would be the first person Vanessa would want to see when she came home and all I can say is Jason Bravo well done Mr Leaver hoping for a Season 4 hopefully the episodes are long because this show is addicting to watch . But for those who are demanded another season right away, I just want to say that I know it’s going to be hard for the cast and crew to put it out as fast as we want them too. Wow, just wow! I must say the whole episode was amazing. The interaction between all the different people during the party was fascinating to watch. The interaction with Uncle Johnny and Angela started my anxiety….the fact that Rose’s mom died in the midst of child birth had got to be tough for Nathan to deal with even after all these years, but Angela the man is qarm for your form! (Yes, I am displaying my age with that quote.)
As for the finale, zounds! That is some heavy Cliffhanger for the fandom to endure. Of course if there’s no Season 4 (I can smell some desperate fund raising ensuing) then the explosion of fan fiction will be prodigious in volume and hopefully quality.
I am Team Angela (yeah, that IS a cop out) but who does Rose choose? I can see why it would be Vanessa since they’ve been friends since they were small, but if Vanessa is Bi then how will that affect Rose?
If she should decide that Claire is her girl how does Claire who is so passionate and an all or nothing person if there ever was one get over what’s happened? It is a powerful thing that Rose experienced and Claire might be able to rationalize that Rose was taken by surprise…at first anyways.
Then again, maybe Herr Director will throw a curve and Subway Hanger Girl or Coffee House Server Girl will win out. Who knows?

this is such a cliff hanger, that last part broke my heart, claire is amazing and she’s so cheerful, seeing her sad is so horrible
i feel sorry for vanessa but i’m team claire, i mean i feel like rose and claire just connect, they’re just perfect for eachother and vanessa is just like there but not really, idk i’m still getting over this series

So, every few months I check your website to see if there are new episodes of this awesome, absorbing, funny, heartbreaking show.
I also did that last friday around noon and there they were: 8 brand new episodes! Release date: September 26th, so I came here just in time. And because noon here in Germany means it’s really, really early in Canada it felt extra special, like I might be one of the first viewers. Unfortunately, after watching the first two episodes, work and life kept me from watching the rest of them until today.
But it was worth the wait! What a great season finale! Loved every episode, every minute of it.
I saw the ending coming, but I still shouted “oh no, oh nooo” at my screen, when Claire saw them kissing. I feel really bad for her, but I think it’s always been Vanessa for Rose. I can’t wait for the next season!
I won’t be able to watch the Super Geeked Up talk (because, you know, it’s at 5 in the morning ..) but I wish you guys a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to watch it a couple of days later.
Please tell me thereis another season coming!!!!!
The mother of all cliffhangers! I love Claire… but I love Vanessa. I need season 4 like, today!!
Thanks so much for making this show, you will help a lot of people. I have only one critisism: Why does it alsoays have to be the moms who are the more homophobic ones in this show? It would be nice it you switched it up a bit in the next season.
You make a fair criticism. In fact, it was something I noticed part way through writing season two. I had considered changing it up to avoid this very thing, but in the end I choose to write to each actor’s strengths. Wendy Glazier is just too good as the villainous mum, and I knew that Robert Nolan would be as spectacular as he is when he redeems himself (or, at least commits to redeeming himself). But don’t forget Angela! She is a mum, and very much a supporter! She understands and fights against homophobia the best she can.
Fun fact: the scene of Nathan with his parents was one of the first scenes I ever wrote, long before I even invented the character of Vanessa or her family.
I realize this comment was posted a while ago, but I just thought I’d add onto this.
I think the show has a theme here of the different relationships of the girls with their daughters, which I like. And they are each different. Claire’s dad is oblivious and not very accepting, isolating himself from his daughter. Vanessa’s dad has to reconcile with himself and comes around to accepting his daughter and wanting to be there for her. And Nathan is supportive of Rose from the get-go and wants to fight for her. Every girl’s relationship with her dad, if she has one is different.
But let’s not forget that Claire’s mom is quite present in her life, and does her best to support her daughter. It’s about family, and I love that.

wow, i ‘m absolutely team Vanessa. I like Claire, she’s nice and funny and i’m really sorry for her. But i still never believed Rose has the same strong feeling for her like she has for Vanessa. I think you can see it in the way she instantly grabs Vanessa and kisses her, totally forgetting about her girlfriend. Thank you so much for this beautifully written and acted show, can’t wait for more!!!
The last five minutes of that episode are so jaw dropping that’s every time I see it. It still give me chill from the moment Vanessa says “I love you” to the moment Clair walks into the room. I don’t think I can watch this with out getting over excited or going crazy. Yay!!!

I guessed that Vanessa was going to show up at her party, but I did not expect that. I hope a season 4 comes soon because I am figuratively dying to know what happens next!!!

I think that many people have forgotten that there are sttil others stories run on at serie, for instance, wil be that Rose’s friends will be able to founder a mixed students’ union into the school? I don’te care if Rose is going to choose Vanessa or Claire as her girlfriend because both of them have good reasons to stay with Rose
But wait… does this mean there’ll be a season 4?
I’ve been in Team Vanessa since day one, but POOR CLAIRE. I understand Rose’s feelings were stronger than any reasonable thoughts and she probably forgot she had a girlfriend, ’cause she’s been loving and missing Vanessa for so long now, but still, POOR CLAIRE.
I have so many mixed feelings! Rose and Claire have to be together. I can’t believe he ended it like that. I need season 4!
I am currently writing a fanfiction for what I think might have happened/will happen next. I love writing and the idea came to me after watching the ending again. Some people may agree with what I write and some may not. All I know is I want to give my own opinion on what i think will/could or should happen.
I love this series so much and I will patiently wait for the next season. But please remember everyone this series takes a lot of work. So support OWD as much as you can because they deserve it!

I love them. One of my favourite finales is Angel, even kinda liked how Sarah Connor Chronicles ended. All of my favourite John Carpenter movies end with cliffhangers, Alfred Hitchcock movies too!
I can’t believe Rose kissed Vanessa, she cheated on her girlfriend with her ex best friend. Even if Rose picks Claire, I doubt that Claire would take Rose back. Through the last few seconds of this episode I got the feeling that the next one in hopefully season 4 Claire and Vanessa are going to fight each other and Rose is just going to be standing there watching!!!
I agree!! Claire is way to strong to go back to Rose after this. I think they’d be friends after awhile but not lovers again.

thank god Vanessa finally figured things out with her feelings for rose. I saw this coming because what is a good show with out a love triangle haha but seriously it was like opening the door to a blast from the past and I am 100% Team Vanessa . But this shows where rose is at a cross-road in her life faced with the past (Vanessa ) and the future( Claire ) and she is stuck in the middle . Can not wait for season 4 because this is gonna be a good. I can say this show changed my life because almost three years ago i was struggling to accept who I was and now because of this show I learned it’s ok to be me and who I am. This show basically saved my life when I was at the lowest point in my life. I hope that they continue to make more episodes because this show could and can help more people that are try to come to terms with their sexuality and I hope this show make enough of a difference to the point when I do find my one true love our children can grow up in a world where they can be themselves and be true to who they are. June 16,2010 is when by happy accident I found this show it was the being of my sophomore year of high school and that happy accident turned my life in to something better now in 2014 so thank you to those who make this show you guys are truly amazing

How dare you! Only joking but making me cry in the boat scene and then Claire crying. You guys really know how to play with my emotions.
Ok, Claire didn’t deserved that. She has proven time and time again what a great girlfriend she is, and she really deserved Rose, but after this, I’m not really sure Rose deserves her. I mean, even if she is in love with Vanessa, ¿how can you kiss someone else when your girlfriend is there?
I remember thinking in the PFLAG episode when that girl (I don’t remember her name) was talking about that girl she was in love with, the one who hid her in the closet and saying that she wanted someone that’d proud to be with her, and thinking that was the difference between Vanessa and Claire. Claire has always been proud of who she is, even when her dad doesn’t approve, and at some point, neither her mom. And even if I feel bad for Vanessa (cause’ I do and I understand where she’s coming from) she didn’t fight for Rose when she had the chance.
But anyway, episode 20 when Rose’s uncle said (I don’t remembre exactly): There wasn’t anything sadder than seeing him introduce his daughter to her mothe, like she was still alive” Ok, I lost it. Crying like a baby.
Thank you so much for making this show!! Never have I seen a so honest, realistic and heart-warming depiction of life as lgbtq-youth. You are doing an awesome job and I am amazed how you can make me sob and laugh with these simple means. I wish I had seen this show when I was a young and confused, but even now it is helping me to reflect upon life as lgbtq-person. I can’t wait for season 4…

Seriously did not see that ending coming! Everyone did such a good job on season 3. I know that at first I wasn’t sure how to feel about a new actor playing Rose’s dad, but I think Jonathan has done a very good job 🙂 I feel like the scene in the kitchen shows that Rose cares about Claire but you can see that there isn’t a lot of passion. The scene after however is so powerful and you can just tell that Rose and Vanessa are meant to be together. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the last scene I’m so happy since I’ve been team Vanessa since the beginning 🙂 I’m so happy that Vanessa has grown so much as a character this season and we’ve gotten to see so many different sides of her. Definitely looking forward to season 4 if there’s going to be one

I think we all knew this was going to happen. Even if you didn’t see it before, you saw it once Vanessa knocked on the door. I literally saw it coming but even now, two days after I watched it the first time, I still can’t believe how it ended. That cliffhanger still has my jaw on the floor. I am Team Vanessa and have been since the beginning and hoped that after she came home that something would happen but not like that. My heart breaks for Claire because she cares so much about Rose and Rose cares for her too but Rose’s feelings for Vanessa never went away, nor did Vanessa’s for Rose. So even if this happened now or later, with Claire seeing or not, eventually it would have and Rose would still have to choose. It all goes to show that after everything Rose and Vanessa still managed to come back to each other and that even when Rose didn’t want it to be, it was always going to be Vanessa. I love Claire and find her absolutely adorable but I believe part of her knew that if Rose knew Vanessa wanted to be with her, she couldn’t do much to stop it. As for Vanessa, teenagers make rash decisions when emotionally compromised, so were her actions a bit selfish, yes. But at the time was running away from it the best plan, maybe. But during the last scene, beautifully done by Kate and Lindsay, there was some selfishness on the part of both girls, but it was a thing that needed to happen for both of them as well.
But all in all, this episode was beautiful, emotional, and intense and was wonderfully acted. Hope it continues. But I will always want to see Rose and Vanessa together. It’s kinda meant to be.
