Currently in pre-production for its highly anticipated third season, Out With Dad is a quirky drama about a teenage girl and her single father, at a time when Rose is coming of age and coming out of the closet. Out With Dad tackles issues of coming out, homophobia, first loves & heartbreak, making mistakes and acceptance, learning and love.
We are proud this series has had a positive effect in the lives of countless gay, lesbian, bisexual and questioning people, their family and friends around the globe. I came out nov 2010 and have been transitioning for 13 months now. Your show brings tears to my eyes, thank you for educating the world about LGBT
found out about your site from AfterEllen.com. I watched the latest episode and cried at my desk at work. It brought memories of when I came out to my parents almost 20 years ago. My mom didn’t take it so well but my dad – he smiled that little smile at me and said “I love you, you are my baby daughter. It might be a hard life because of some people but you can always count on me being in your corner” He encouraged my mom to go to PFLAG and it was there that she found the support and answers she needed. She came back from one meeting and said she was ashamed at how she treated me. She apologized to me and said “I never again will i not be the mom I am supposed to be.” The next year, my parents walked with me in the Pride Parade in Columbus, OH. My mom in her wheelchair, my dad pushing her. They walked the ENTIRE parade route with me, smiling and waving. I can’t tell you how much pride and joy I had in my heart with both my parents there. I knew i was one of the lucky ones because I had friends that their parents no longer wanted them to exist so my parents from that day would “adopt” any of my friends so they have parents that will love them unconditionally. So now I have many brothers and sisters and I am still one of the lucky ones – my parents are in their late 70′s but healthy, still championing for their daughter and their many adopted daughters and sons. I wish the world would know of these two awesome people.
Hey, I just wanted to drop by (again) and say that I loved the latest episode! Vanessa’s a bit of an enigma… I also love the music on the series, it’s really well done. Thanks for the new episodes, and I’m really looking forward to the finale! Even though I’ll be bummed that it’s over.
Hi I was wondering if/when you are making another episode? i’d really like it! These are amazing and totally true they help my friends and I with making decisions and closer relationships to our dads.
@Sas, I’m really glad you enjoyed the first episode! Yup, everything was shot in Toronto and Oakville. I really want Toronto to star as Toronto, so I made sure some great skyline shots (CN Tower included) made its way into this, you’ll see what I mean in the final episode of this season.
I love the first episode, it looks like it’ll be a good series. It’s also nice to see something like this based in Ontario!
Thanks!
